About
1/2 way through the season Ty decided he wanted to try playing catcher -
NO ONE wants to play catcher in machine pitch because the ball comes in
at 40 mph. Most catchers get dressed in all the gear and then just
stand by the dugout until all the balls are pitched and then they run
get them and through them back. I was a little unsure of how Ty would
do, he mostly plays in the outfield and is usually dancing around. But
he LOVES playing catcher and gets right in there and catches a lot of
the pitches. The ball comes in so fast it has torn his mitt to shreds.
:) Good thing we don't have another left handed kid to pass it down to! Ty got invited to try out for the All Star Team, most
likely for the fact that he is the only kid that will get in there and
catch the pitches. :) Try outs are Saturday, but there are a lot of
really good kids in his league, quite a few are 9 year olds.
Zack
has LOVED playing baseball. He is in coach pitch but they started
using a new pitching maching that is more like an arched slow pitch, but
a little faster than the coach pitches. At first no one on our team
could hit off that machine but the last few games of the season they
have been doing so much better. Zack spends a lot of his time flirting
with girls on his team, or trying to get the attention of girls from his
preschool class who are at the fields watching their brothers. :)
I loved this picture - all 3 of them heading to their games. :)
