Weekend plans

Are there any plans for this weekend besides the football game on Friday night? Pat and Dale are you staying down here for conference weekend?

Angry Birds

Most of you have already seen them - but I am all done making the boys angry bird costumes for Halloween.
Kade is the white bird, Ty is the red bird, Zack is the yellow bird and Cort is the little blue bird. The boys LOVE them!

The Classic

Here are a few pictures of what we've been doing lately.

Cort is 7 months old and so much fun! He laughs at anything and everything, even when he is rolling around by himself with no one else around. :) Zack stuck a baseball helmet on him one day while he was eating. The boys ran in their first race today! :) I was probably more excited than they were - but they had a really great time. Morgan ran in the race as well. I thought the kids course was 2 miles, so we have been working really hard to work up to two miles. On Labor Day we all ran 2 miles together and figured they'd do OK. When I picked up their swag bags the day before the race I asked the distance and they said it was only 1K (.6 of a mile) the boys were thrilled when they found out.
This race was awesome - I am going to run the 10K next year. They had such great prizes and raffle items. The kids got so much great stuff in their swag bags - more than anything Rich or I have gotten from races we've done. They got t-shirts, water bottles, a bunch of slap bracelets and coloring books and things like that, a $5.00 gift card to a burger and shake restaurant, cpns. for a free chick fil a sandwich, a game of bowling and entrance to a swimming pool. It was well worth the $10.00 entrance fee. After the race Ali and I saw a lady packing around a packaged BOB double jogging stroller that she had won - those strollers are like $600-$700!!!
The kids all did great! We saw them all start and chase after that chicken/bird you see in the background. There were kids from about 2 to about 12-14 years old. Ty came in about 10th and Kade wasn't far behind him. Morgan came a little while later - but she was so happy and content, it was really cute to see how excited she was to finish and get a medal.
We have sparked the racing bug in Ty - he LOVED it. Kade didn't say a whole lot but said he'd do the frightmares fun run on Oct. 1st at Lagoon. :)
These are the cucumber sandwiches that we had at the BYU opener at Brad and Ali's. They are SO yummy!!!! You slice up a baguette (I toasted mine in the oven a little) and then put the spread on and a sliced cucumber and sprinkle with dill weed.
The spread recipe is:
1 pkg. cream cheese softened
1/2 cup mayo
1 pkg. dry italian dressing packet (I could only find the zesty italian and it was really good)

Oktoberfest!

We drove to Snowbird today to check out Oktoberfest. We rode the tram to the top of Hidden Peak, then hiked down a little to explore the old mining tunnel they've expanded to connect the two valleys, then rode the chairlift back down. It was a perfect day to be at the top of the mountain and we had a great time. Although everything looks quite different when it's not buried under 500 inches of snow.

I think she was surprised.

I wondered if she had caught wind of her gift. If so, she did a good job of acting surprised. It was a great day with lots of good food, lots of kids, lots of football. And I even won a round of golf! Although Trent carried me to victory, I did shoot par on one of the holes. USU lost, but I think it should count as a win. BYU won, but it maybe should be counted as a loss.
