We got J a little car set for Christmas. The age limit said 3 and up. Maybe I should have taken heed to that.... The car ran off the track and ran under the chair. She bent down to get it and this is what she came up with. We had to cut it out. Now she's keeps saying "car, owie hair". Parent fail.

 

He's 4!!!

At Zack's preschool they get to each take a turn to bring home T-bone. Zack got to have him from a Thurs.-Tues. He was so excited and took T-bone around with him everywhere and then got to right write about what they did.

Zack has been so excited for his birthday. He has been counting down the days and it finally came. This age is so cute! He gets so excited over everything. There was a lot of jumping up and down and giggling :) He got this pillow pet, whose name is Bernie! He picked out a birthday hat from the dollar store (thanks for the idea Rach) the hat was one of the most exciting things of his day!

I took this idea off pinterest to hang the streamers with balloons at the end. The picture is a little blurry - but the balloons were fun!

Zack had preschool on his birthday so I got to stay at the first part and do his birthday spotlight and tell about him and show pictures. Then at the end of preschool they had their Christmas program. Zack mostly just sat and stared but he did get up and play the bells in one song. :)

Zack chose to go to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. We went to a new place in Layton that Jackie Bateman recommended. It was good - the kids all loved it too, surprisingly! They had a fresh salsa bar with hot chips and tons of different kinds of salsa. The honey/mango salsa and the avacado/cilantro were my favorite. The kids each got a churro sundae with their kids meals. They were in heaven!!! We were going to go bowling but ran out of time because Rich and Kade had scouts. So we extending the celebration and are going on Friday! We came home and sang to him with candles in a hostess cupcake!
He had a great day. We Love this crazy, white haired little boy!

Idaho Weather

The weather is pretty wild here too. We had the same wind storm move through last week, but only had gusts to 70 mph. The church lost power so they canceled the primary nativity. Otherwise I didn't hear of much damage. Today we have blowing and drifting snow. The kids school is on a two hour delay.
As for the Kidney stones, yes, Brooke had them. I got a message from Dad last night, but too late to call back. When I heard the message I thought, "It must not be kidney stones because he can talk on the phone." When I read Val's post about going into labor, however, I thought maybe it is. We don't really have much advice to give. Brooke was in a lot of pain, we eventually ended up in the hospital. They eventually gave her an MRI and diagnosed the stone, then we waited around for it to pass. They collected it and we left. A few weeks later we saw a specialist and the had the stone analyzed. Basically there was nothing they could do. She had an IV, but never even any pain medication (by the time they figured out what was going on the pain had stopped). Our specialist said there were some drugs he could give her to help keep new stones from forming, but she'd be on them for the rest of her life. So, a lot of pain, a lot of waiting around, then nothing. If it ever happens again we would go straight to the emergency room and tell them what we thought it was.

Church Cancelled

We got a call this morning at 9am telling us church was cancelled for today. The Governor issued a storm warning for the wasatch front, asking everyone to prepare for the wind storm that is suppose to come tonight. The winds are not forecasted to be as strong as the ones from earlier this week - but with all the damage and loose debris from the last storm, they asked that we spend the day cleaning up loose debris and preparing for the next storm which will be mixed with snow. Our ward thankfully didn't have too much damage. A lot of shingles blown off, and a lot of trees down - but neighborhoods all around us have tons of trees and fences down. Anyways - NO church for us today. Rich gathered tons of wood yesterday - so we have a good stock pile for the fireplace. I'll let you know how we fare after this next storm. :) Hopefully it is not too bad.

Crazy Winds!

We had heard the weather forcast call for 70 mph winds starting last night so Rich pulled in the garbage cans and anything loose in our yard and it's a good thing he did! We woke up at 2 am to our fire alarms beeping because the power went out and the winds were blowing like crazy! When we got up in the morning there were garbage cans blowing down the street and the neighborhood kids bikes and toys were all over. Rich's co-worker, Shaka, called and said they had trees completely uprooted that fell over and almost fell on their house. I drove the kids to school and saw a some of the damage on the way there. There were big trees broken, fences all tore apart, shingles and garbage cans everywhere, stop lights blowing in the streets - it was crazy! The school looked pretty barren but I stopped in front of the school and had the boys run in to ask if there was school. They barely made it in because the wind was pushing them so hard. Soon they came running out back to the car and before they could get to the car the wind picked up Ty and pushed him a ways then he fell on his stomach. It scared him to death, he was sobbing! I tried to open my door to go help him and couldn't push my door open. Kade ran over and help pick him up and get him in the car. He was pretty shaken :) We drove home, listening to the radio, we heard that wind gusts were 102 mph in Centerville. Semi trucks were toppled over on I-15, IHOP's window were blown out and that you should stay home if you don't have to drive. So Rich stayed home for a little while and built us a fire since we had no power - it was cold!! The boys were building forts and we were all laying around the fireplace. Crazy!!! Our power came on about 11:30 - I had the neighbor girl come over while I ran to the store. Smith's was dead! They had been running on a generator and there were only a few other people there and all the refigerated food had been pulled from the shelves and the freezer sections were all roped off. The winds have really died down now - but we had a pretty exciting morning. We didn't have any damage to the house or trees or shingles (thankfully, since they are brand new). Ty's little experience of being picked up by the wind was about as exciting as it got here :)
