Okay, I just rented the 21 ft slide for Saturday!!!! so breakfast at my house around 8:30am, then dad was getting a tee-time for 10am. Set up for the slide starts at 9am, we have it until 6pm.
Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for lunch. alot of sun and water and sunscreen!! I can't wait! Morgan you can invite your friends if you want. Everyone plan on bringing some dish to go with the BBQ. Maybe we'll make ice cream.
Also, I made the deposit for August for Hebgon Lake!

Its Over

Riley proclaimed "It's Over!" when Todd tangled his fishing line last family camp out and ironically enough Todd never caught another fish... I think we need her to take a look at the Breeze and make the same announcement because it is over for the breeze. We've put about $1,000 into it over the last year and a half and I think in working condition it is probably only worth about that. It has started to make a disturbing "grinding" sound within the engine. We're hoping it can get Kylie to work tomorrow and back. We may need to spend some time this weekend in IF looking for a new car. The real question is what in the world do we do with the breeze?

Riley's First Gymnastics Meet

Riley had her first gymnastics meet today. She took second in both floor and beam! - the French judge seemed out to get her. She did awesome and was ver confident and poised considering all the people there.

I also had to throw in a picture of the girls looking out the window and Macie with her hat on.

In other news, the girls are very excited about the Robin that decided to build its nest on the light fixture out our back door. I thought about tearing it down before it laid any eggs, but was quickly vetoed by a 5 and 3-year old. They have me check every day to see if there are any "blue eggs" yet. None yet, but we'll keep you posted.

A book by a girl whose husband I know.

I went to law school with the husband of the girl who wrote the up-comming book "Wings." I haven't read the book, and don't really plan to as it is targeted at teen girls. But Kenny was a great law student. He is understandably proud of his wife and her book. She has a four book deal with her publisher and is going on a promotion tour. I gather that in the world of publishing she is kind of a "big deal," as far as new authors go.  You may have seen Alison's review on the The Madsen Review. I decided to post here because I've learned that her promotion tour is going to Idaho Falls. So, if you are in town that day and want to get your book signed, now you can! I know Kenny pretty well, just through school, but have never met Aprilynne. She is, however, kind enough to go to the Children's Book Festival at the Provo City Library per Alison's request! You can see that it conveniently fit into your travel schedule.

If I had to take a stab at the projected popularity of the books, I would say they will be very succesful young-adult literature but might not capture the more adult audiences like Twilight and Harry Potter managed to. That is just my guess listening to how Ali described them, but who knows! The publisher clearly thinks they have a winner on their hands, based on the multiple-book deal and extensive promotional effort. Google suggests that preliminary reviews are very positive.
